Sunset Villas Zambales

Sunset on the Beach

If you are looking for a beach getaway that’s quiet but comfortable, head up north from Metro Manila and check out Sunset Villas by Alperi. If you don’t mind the long drive through the local towns and trust me you’ll pass by a good few on the way as well as some countryside scenery, then I suggest you add this resort to your next possible holiday.

We left Metro Manila at roughly 9 am on a Monday via the Skyway then NLEX. We took a couple of stops to get snacks, use the restroom, and gas up. If you want to break up your trip, I suggest you take a stop at Subic since that is the halfway point. It usually takes about 2 hours to get from Manila to Subic, and then another 2 hours from Subic to Palauig, Zambales. We reached the resort by around 2 pm. Although five hours seemed quite long, it wasn’t so bad of a drive. There was barely any traffic when driving through the local towns in the Zambales area. The roads were smooth and the scenic view once you are in the mountainous areas was pretty nice. There are also many places to get food such as drive-thrus or convenience stores, and also plenty of gas stations along the way if you need a break to stretch your legs or use the restroom.

When it comes to the accommodation itself, the resort has a few choices. They have a double room which can accommodate up to four people. This is great for a small group of friends or if you have kids with you. The double rooms face the pool which means you can take a dip any time during the day with ease. Not only do the rooms come with two double beds, but they also have a little coffee table and some chairs just outside your door. You can comfortably watch over your kids when they’re splashing around and having fun. However, if you are a light sleeper then I suggest you go with the other kinds of rooms they have, since being by the pool there will be noise from time to time from the other guests who are swimming.

A-Frame Room

If you’d like something more quiet then you can take a look at their queen rooms. It has one double bed and is good for two people. It’s a little farther from the pool but also closer to the beach. It has its own terrace where you can lounge and enjoy the sea breeze that comes through. Opposite your doors, you will also find little huts that have bean bags that you can also chill and use when eating or just want to sit outdoors. It’s especially nice during the evenings and has a cozy vibe.

They also have a larger accommodation called the family rooms which is the row of triangle houses. They contain two single beds and three double beds and can accommodate up to eight people. If you are a large family or group then this option is perfect. It has a second level and its own bathroom and also comes with a terrace. The room is spacious enough and everyone can sleep comfortably. There are also some tables and chairs outside just opposite the houses that you can use.
