Women in hospitality are certainly to be reckoned with, especially those who live to be the best role models and sole providers for their children. Such is May Nessia, a testament of hospitality success in Real Estate.
With her petite stature, and beguiling looks, this Real Estate Manager would not have lasted as long as thirty years and single-handedly put her children to school if not for her firm focus and drive to succeed in her work and close multi-million deals.
Coming from a Political Science degree at the University of Santo Tomas, May found Real Estate as the outlet on which she could apply her education, exercise her wit and persistence, as well as earn a wealth of money from.
Since the beginning of her career, she has sold a condominium unit at One Beverly Place in Greenhills, further closing a string of horizontal and vertical properties to the A market.
By leading an international sales team, she has also found herself traveling to countries around the globe, catering to balik bayans and foreign investors.
May certainly knows how to walk her talk, as she herself has made several Real Estate investments, including five condominium units in McKinley Hill, one unit in Greenhills, one in Pasig and one in Cebu. While she is earning more from these investments on rentals and sale, she still relentless in pursuing other investments, such as a lot in Alfonso, Cavite and in Hedge Funds Banking,

• How do you describe working in Real Estate?
It's fun, challenging and rewarding
• What is it about your job that you like?
I learned focus and persistence in selling.
• What are your qualities that have successfully closed deals?
Building trust, and having rapport and credibility.
• What are the techniques that you apply in reaching out to clients?
As much as possible I do personal presentations and face-to-face interactions.
• Describe a situation wherein you dealt with a difficult client who eventually bought the property you were selling?
When in the middle of closing the deal, one client was not reacting or did not have objections but eventually I was able to receive the reservation cheque to close the deal.
• What are the challenges you face in Real Estate and how were you able to resolve them?
It is challenging to offer to first time investors because you need to share information and somehow educate them that Real Estate is the best real investment.
• What were the valuable lessons you have learned since starting in Real Estate? Honesty
• How do you address competition?
Competition is fire. It is exciting. I feel joy when there is competition.
• How do you balance work and pleasure?
If I feel burned out, I take a break and regroup. I make sure that I observe the sabbath day.
• What else would you want to accomplish from hereon?
To have a beach house by the time I retire and travel around the world.
• What advice would you give to people who want to work in Real Estate?
Learn to love what you do, be open to learning, to growing, and most of all dedicate all your achievements to God, our creator.
