Boxpark has appointed former Gusto Italian leader Matt Snell as its new CEO
In his new role, Snell will direct the business during a period of ongoing growth that will see it launch its first Boxhall site, which is set to open in the coming months at the historic Metropolitan Arcade building close to Liverpool Street station in London.
''I am hugely excited to join Boxpark at such a pivotal moment in its journey," says Snell, who has also held senior roles at Fuller, Smith & Turner, and Red's True Barbecue. ''The brand has already redefined the leisure experience, and I look forward to working with the team to continue pushing boundaries and delivering even more innovative and exciting offerings."
Compared to Boxpark, Boxhall sites are designed to be smaller, F&B-focused destinations featuring between six and 12 street food vendors. A further Boxhall is set to open later this year in Bristol, with a new Boxpark site also due to launch in Birmingham.
Additionally, the group, whose estate currently consists of four Boxpark sites in London and one in Liverpool, recently launched a new competitive socialising concept at its Croydon site.
Playbox offers a 'dynamic mix of interactive games and classic entertainment' including digital shuffleboard and darts; karaoke; pool tables; and retro arcade games.
''It's going to be a hectic and monumental year for the brand, which we're all extremely pumped for," adds Snell.
Boxpark also recently appointed Chris Burford as CFO, who will support and strengthen the business's operations and growth strategy.
''As we continue to grow, we need world class leaders with the skills to help achieve our business goals," says Paul Thandi, Boxpark chair.
I am delighted to welcome Matt to the team, who brings a wealth of experience and will mark an exciting new chapter to the Boxpark journey."
