Lily Santos-Adrid: A Figure of An Effective Lady GM

Lily Santos-Adrid

In hospitality, being a female leader is normal, but when it comes down to managing a full-serviced hotel with 102 rooms, a restaurant, a gym with a sauna, a banquet hall, a swimming pool, and over a hundred employees, uncovering her secret becomes one valuable quest.

Like most hoteliers, Miss Lily Santos-Adrid’s career path began in the lower ranks. She started as the Auditor in one of the country’s most prestigious hotels and then worked her way up to becoming the Finance Controller.

During her tenure at Fraser Place Manila Aparthotel, a 5-star hotel in Makati, she received a promotion to Executive Assistant Manager. Soon after, she found herself as the General Manager of this 89-room, 42-story hotel, the first Filipina and youngest GM at that time within the Singapore-based hospitality group of hotels.

This prestigious role allowed her to travel and exercise her leadership skills, as well as strengthen her knowledge and resilience to change. Her pre-opening designations in Thailand, Vietnam, China, and London allowed her to also work with diverse cultures and temperaments, a foundation that has greatly contributed to her well-rounded and effective leadership.

After working for the Fraser Hospitality Group, she moved to other properties, such as Hotel H2O, Midas Hotel and Casino, and now, Sotogrande Hotel, which is managed by Enderun Hotels.
