Now that we are at the coattails of the COVID-19, it is important to remember the days of the pandemic where the only form of travel available is the ever-popular: staycation. Back during the dark days, check points and restrictions were the bread and butter of our society. Social distancing was a must so as not to spread the deadly virus. As such traveling for leisure was basically non-existent. That is, until the ray of sun of the possibility of hotel staycations shone above us.

However, now that it is so much safer with most of us vaccinated, the gears in the traveling industry are beginning to turn faster and faster again. We can now travel to almost our heart’s content. Albeit there are still some restrictions and more paperwork than before. In this climate though, we must ask, how can we still make the most of staycations. These pseudo-travel vacations, at its very core, is supposedly near where you are. It should encompass all the luxury without much of the traveling.

In a way if you are not creative, there can be a lag on just how much you can do and how much fun you can make a simple staycation. As such here are some of the things that can change your perspective about the humble but not so cheap staycation:

Explore Your Surroundings

In Okada Manila, there is a mirage of both upscale and affordable feasts for the eyes around the entire vicinity. There are high-end perfume stores where you can test a myriad of samples so you can choose which one you will spend your hard-earned money on. With that being said, there is a very popular coffee franchise on the other side of the property where you can enjoy a cup for a couple of bucks. Basically, from expensive to cheap, there are stores you can go and explore. And these are just what’s inside the hotel. Imagine what you can explore around the vicinity.

This is where I would have to shine a light on Manila Peninsula. Located at the heart of the metro, it’s literally just a stone’s throw away from Blackbird, a high-end restaurant that has fantastic architecture. It is also around 10 to 15 minutes away from various malls that you can explore. Walking around is a great way to experience your city in a whole new level. It can also lead you to discovering hole in the wall places that you wouldn’t have noticed otherwise.

Basically, being more observant and adventurous is the way to go!

Eat And Eat Well!

Good food brings people together, but people forget the eating is not just a simple practice of obtaining sustenance. In hospitality it is an entire experience to be had. From the breakfast buffet to the different meals to be had in the different restaurants. If you are going to a hotel, it is almost a must that you try the local food of the property as there are usually esteemed chefs.

If you are also looking to splurge, fine dining is something you might want to try. Anya hotel in Tagaytay has a restaurant named Samira which offer outstanding food with the view of the pool outside and a series of great architectural artistry. Experiences like this can elevate the entire staycation experience.

Experience Spa And Relaxation

Relaxation and enjoyment are the whole point of any vacation. As such explore what your hotel has to offer. Book a massage! There is a wonderful article exploring the different kinds of massage in our website and you can go give that a read to ensure you purchase the right kind for you. Aside from massages, there are spa and steam rooms that you can enjoy.

There are also pools that you can dip into to beat the summer’s heat. Most of the time hotels have magnificent pools that are a great treat for adults and kids as well. Just remember to keep an eye on the children as during the summertime, pools are really jam packed.
