Dirty Mary Martini Carafe

Bloody Mary Martini

Ingredients:

  • 1 to 2 lemons (enough lemon juice to fill 2 tbsp)

  • 2 cups tomato juice

  • ½ cup vodka

  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tsp Tabasco sauce

  • 4 celery sticks

  • 2 bacon rashers (slice it once lengthwise to create 4 long pieces)

  • 4 pickled onions

  • 4 green olives

Directions:

  1. Make sure your tomato juice and vodka is chilled. Combine the tomato juice, vodka, Wocestershire sauce, and Tabasco into the carafe. Stir until everything is well combined.

  2. Create the garnish by cooking the slices of bacon. Don’t cook it for too long, you don’t want it to be too crispy since you need to be able to roll it once it’s cooked.

  3. Once the bacon is cooked, gently roll it and secure it with a toothpick.

  4. Add a pickled onion and olive to each toothpick. Feel free to arrange the order of the food on the toothpick for as long as all 4 toothpicks are even.

  5. Place a stick of celery in each glass before pouring out the Dirty Mary Martini mix.

Notes:

  • If you want to make it a little more special, you can rim the glass with dukka, celery salt, or even everything bagel mix. You can also create your own mixture of dried herbs, spices such as cumin and paprika, and salt and pepper to taste. Have fun with this, there are no rules and you can really customize it to your liking.

  • For the toothpicks, you may also change out any of the ingredients. You can opt to do stuffed olives, small cubes of cheese, cornichons, salami or some kind of deli meat, pepperoncini, shrimp, small tomatoes, or caper berries. As long as it small enough to fit on a toothpick and you can make it look presentable.

  • If you don’t have celery to garnish, you can also use large pickle slices. Take one whole pickle and cut it lengthwise into 4 equal pieces. You may also do pickled asparagus, or even carrot sticks.

  • You may use limes if you can’t find lemons.

  • Tabasco can be switched out for a different brand or kind of hot sauce if that is what you’d prefer. Just be careful when adding it into the mixture. Start small and taste it first before adding any more. You can also leave the hot sauce out by the carafe in case others would like to make theirs a little spicier.
