My recent explorations in Davao brought me to different hotels around the city. One of the places I stayed at is called the Garden Vista Hotel. I had never stayed here before so I was eager to see if the online reviews I had previously read would match my experience. When I was searching online, I wanted somewhere that would accommodate my family as well as some visitors and friends I wanted to see while I was in town. This hotel came up and I decided to try it out, and to my pleasant surprise I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
The first thing I want to note about this hotel is that it is located within a village. There is a guardhouse upon entering the village so there is a sense of safety when it comes to the location. It is also not very far from SM Lanang which is very convenient. You could walk to the mall on a good day if you are up for it, or you can also book a grab and take a 5-10 minute ride depending on the traffic. Although parts of Davao city tend to get flooded during the rainy season, you don’t have to worry about this hotel. It’s in a flood free area since the village itself is slightly elevated compared to the main road that leads you to the guardhouse.
Although this is a hotel, it has more of an apartment style setup. They have one bedroom and 2 bedroom style apartments which means it’s great for families. The rooms come with aircon, a decent sized living room and small dining table, as well as a kitchenette complete with a refrigerator and stove. It is also equipped with utensils so you don’t have to worry about anything when it comes to cooking and dining. If you want to relax and don’t feel like cooking, that isn’t a problem at all since you can always order food from your favorite delivery apps. Due to the mall being very close as well as many other food establishments and convenience stores nearby, you’ll have many choices when it comes to food and drink deliveries.
If you are remotely working and like to travel often then do consider staying at this place if you ever find yourself in Davao city. They have stable wifi connection and you can work comfortably from your little apartment style setup. There’s no need to leave the establishment and try to find a cafe with a nice ambience and great internet. You can just roll out of bed and get to work whether you prefer to sit at the dining table or simply ease yourself onto the couch.
Lastly, if you are looking to stay for longer than just a few nights, they do offer different rates for longer stays. You can stay for a couple weeks or even a month. The rates will vary so just call them up and check out what the current rates are for the month of your visit.
