When talking about vacation destinations in the Philippines, Boracay Island will definitely be on the list. A tropical island blessed with pristine white sand, crystal clear blue water and breathtaking sunsets, Boracay is indeed one of the must-visit places if you want to experience a tropical paradise.
Gone are the days when going to the country’s top beach destination was a privilege only for the rich. There are indeed ways to enjoy the breathtaking view, soak in the azure waters and feel the fine sand between your toes without breaking the bank.
Here are some things you need to know and tips to save up to make the most of your Boracay Island getaway.
Going To Boracay
Located in the western part of Visayas, Boracay Island is part of the province of Aklan. The most common way of traveling to the island is by plane, followed by boat. If you are coming from Manila, the best way to get to Boracay is by air on a less than an hour long flight from Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Another option is booking a ferry ticket from the Batangas Port which will take you directly to the Caticlan Jetty Port. However, in terms of travel time, travel by water takes roughly nine to 11 hours.
Booking A Plane Ticket
A roundtrip ticket could set you back as much as PhP8,000 net on average, per person. If you’re not in a hurry to travel, wait for airline promos and save them for when you are able to take that trip. One local budget airline is known for their Super Pass promos which are launched on mega-sale dates for as low as PhP99 one-way base fare.
