All the UK restaurants that won new Michelin stars in the 2025 Michelin Guide

February was a big month for the UK’s restaurant scene. Professional foodies from across the UK gathered at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow, Scotland, to see which restaurants would walk away with a new Michelin star.

Twenty-two restaurants across the UK and Ireland earned their very first star, and three were promoted to two stars. Moor Hall in Aughton, Lancashire, was the only new restaurant to be awarded a coveted third Michelin star – an honor that represents the ‘pinnacle of gastronomic brilliance’.

Michelin Inspectors reported that every dish at Moor Hall is ‘now simply brilliant, with consistent levels of precision, balance and purity of flavor achieved throughout’ and that its chefs, led by Mark Birchall, are ‘dedicated to the highest degree.’

Most newly decorated diners were in London, with 10 restaurants in the capital earning their very first star.

Outside of London, 10 restaurants were awarded their first or second stars, including Lyla in Edinburgh, which was given five stars from Time Out. Our reviewer Chiara Wilkinson called Lyla ‘a top-tier fine-dining restaurant where the surroundings are as elegant as the dishes’.

Also receiving a star is Skof in Manchester, described by our local food critic Kelly Bishop as offering ‘ambitious but unpretentious dining.’ Bishop enthused: ‘From the unflappable, genuinely friendly staff to the impeccably sourced produce the whole experience is next level.’
